RALEIGH, North Carolina — The third-ranked Notre Dame baseball team is back in action this weekend as conference play opens. Notre Dame (9-1) is still in North Carolina as it prepares for a ranked game with No. 17 NC State (9-4). The Irish and Wolfpack kick off the three-game series with a nationally televised game Friday night at 6 p.m. ET on the ACC Network.

ACC Play begins with a series of weekends at NC State

  • NC State enters the series 9-4 this season and is 1-3 in its last four games.

  • The home run was his fourth of the season for the team and tied a career high with five RBIs.
  • Coetzee’s home run was in the middle of an eight-run third inning that opened the game for the Irish.
  • The eight runs in third tied a season high for most runs in an inning. The Irish also scored eight runs in the first set against Marist on February 25.
  • It’s the most runs in an inning since April 24, 2021, when the Irish scored 12 in the eighth round against Boston College.
  • On the mound, freshman southpaw Jack Findlay made his collegiate debut against the Phoenix.
