Mike White’s accomplishments are felt throughout HBO’s anthology series “The White Lotus.” With its biting and intricate mosaic of characters, it hits on nearly every level.

Danny Strong is a beloved writer and ends his addiction series “Dopesick” on the most poignant note.

Elizabeth Meriwether is beloved in the industry, as evidenced by her name for “The Dropout.” The series’ timely story of ambition and corruption sets its narrative pace.

Ryan Murphy’s power continues with ‘Impeachment: American Crime Story’ and multiple nominations, despite declining ratings and reviews. This surely helped Sarah Burgess land a shocking name.

Proof that the Netflix drama “MAID” was a near miss for an exceptional limited series, saw Molly Smith Metzler’s name among the scribes of this incredibly competitive race. It is also one of the few categories in which he has a chance.

There are avid admirers for “Station Eleven,” the HBO adaptation of the famous novel, exemplified by the decent number of nominations. Perhaps an upset winner waiting in the wings for Patrick Somerville?

About the Primetime Emmy Awards (Emmys)

The Primetime Emmy Awards, better known as Emmys, are awarded by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (ATAS). Since 1949, the awards have recognized excellence in American prime-time television programming. They are divided into three classes – Primetime Emmy Awards, Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards (recognizes achievement in craftsmanship), and Primetime Engineering Emmy Awards (recognizes significant contributions in engineering and technology). The typical eligibility period is between June 1 and May 31 of any given year. The Television Academy has over 25,000 members, representing 30 professional peer groups, including performers, directors, producers, art directors, and various craftsmen and executives.
