the Public information model was originally created to serve the GIS disaster and emergency response community. Esri’s Disaster Response Program uses this model to map forest fires, hurricanes, extreme weather, floods, and earthquakes. For example, here is a map that shows current weather warnings, integrating real-time flows.
The public information model has recently been redesigned and added to the ArcGIS Online web application template gallery, making it easier than ever to use. This configurable application is particularly useful for providing your maps as well as media feeds from Instagram, Flickr, Twitter and Webcams.travel.

You can add a summary to your map and direct users to areas of interest using map notes and bookmarks. Layers can be turned on or off, and some social media layers can be configured. You can also search for a particular area and share your map extent with others by embedding the map in a web page or by sharing the link. The result will look great and have a responsive design that will fit any device or window size.
You can find the template in the Create a Web Application gallery in ArcGIS Online.

Here’s how to build your own app using the Public Information Template.
The first step: Connect with your ArcGIS organizational or free public account.
Second step : Click Map in the map viewer and create a web map. Add any layers you want with pop-ups, map notes, and bookmarks configured.
Third step: Save your map and click Share to share it publicly or within your organization. Then click on Create a web application.
Fourth step: Select the public information template from the gallery, then click Publish. Fill in your title, tags, and summary, then click Save & Publish.
Fifth step: Then you will configure the application. Click Show Item, then click Configure Application.

Sixth step: Choose from a variety of options on the Configure panel. Activate the social media of your choice such as Flickr, Twitter and Webcams layers. For example, under Flickr Options, check Enable Flickr Layer and check Visible, then click Save to have Flickr images appear on your map.
Seventh step: When you are done setting up the mapping application, click Share.
In addition to selecting options in the control panel, you can download the source code for further modification and host it on your own site.
This template gives you the flexibility to combine your card with media, whether it’s a disaster or show real-time Instagram and Twitter posts for a half marathon. Let your imagination run wild!
