REPORTS

CARJACKING/ATTEMPTED CARJACKING, 2022-041000012/2022-04100014/2022-04100041 Block 800 of N. Glebe Road/N. Vermont Street to N. Tazewell Street. At approximately 1 a.m. on April 10, police were dispatched to the 800 block of N. Glebe Road to report a forcible robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that approximately 10 minutes prior, the victim had been inside his parked vehicle when the three unknown suspects approached. The suspects opened the doors of the vehicle, hit the victim and stole his wallet and credit cards. When the victim exited the vehicle, the suspects entered and attempted to steal the vehicle, but it had come to a stop. The suspects then fled on foot. The victim refused to seek treatment. At approximately 1:03 a.m., police were dispatched to N. Vermont Street at N. Tazewell Street for a report of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, it was determined that both victims were inside their parked vehicle when the three suspects approached, opened the driver’s door and asked the victims to exit. The suspects then fled in the stolen vehicle. At approximately 4 a.m., officers were notified that Virginia State Police had initiated a pursuit of the vehicle on I-395 in Fairfax County. Arlington officers joined the pursuit once it entered Arlington County. The driver ignored all stop commands and fled to Washington D.C. Later that day, the Metropolitan Police Department and the Prince George’s County Police Department located the stolen vehicle and arrested the occupants of the vehicle . Warrants for conspiracy to commit carjacking (x2), carjacking (x2) and robbery have been obtained for 21-year-old Laysohn Jones of Suitland, MD. Petitions for the two underage suspects are pending.

FLIGHT, 2022-04080025 1600 Block 18th St N. At approximately 3:46 a.m. on April 8, police were dispatched to report an unknown disturbance. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was inside the apartment building when approached by the unknown suspect. The suspect grabbed the victim and stole his cell phone, during which the victim attempted to take it back and the suspect made threatening verbal statements and opened his fanny pack to reveal a gun. The suspect stole money from the victim before returning his cell phone and fleeing. The suspect is described as a black woman wearing a black headscarf, black jacket, burgundy fanny pack, gray pants and black sneakers. The investigation is ongoing.

FLIGHT, 2022-04080198, 4200 block of Wilson Blvd. At approximately 5:52 p.m., police were dispatched to report a late theft. Upon arrival, officers met with a security guard and determined that the juvenile suspect allegedly stole the victim’s mobile phone from a bench before fleeing. Officers attempted to contact the victim with negative results. During the investigation, a second victim was located. The investigation determined that at approximately 5:20 p.m., the juvenile victim was inside the parking garage when the suspect, along with approximately 7 other juvenile suspects, approached. The suspects stole the victim’s backpack and cell phone. The victim was able to leave the scene safely and tell an adult about the incident. No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.

FLIGHT2022-04080226, 4600 block of 4and S. St. At approximately 9:05 p.m. on April 8, police were dispatched to report a forcible robbery. Upon arrival, officers met the victim who said that at approximately 7:00 p.m. he was walking in the area of ​​the 400 block of S. Buchanan Street when he was approached by the three unknown male suspects. Suspect One demanded the victim give him his money and brandished a gun. The victim refused and the three suspects fled on foot. There are no descriptions for the three suspects. The investigation is ongoing.

HEIST, 2022-04090077, 700 block of S. Adams Street. At approximately 8:00 a.m. on April 9, police were dispatched to report an attempted break and enter. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 10:30 p.m. on April 8 and 7:45 a.m. on April 9, the unknown suspect broke into a residence, causing damage to the door. No items were reported stolen. There is no suspicious description. The investigation is ongoing.
