HBO is developing “True Detective: Night Country” with writing and directing by Issa López!

Add Asobo A Plague Tale: Innocence to the list of upcoming adaptations of video games into television series. According to the French publication Allocinatedadaptation of A plague tale will have a French director Mathieu Touri (who made 2017 Hostile and 2020s Meander) performing the series, while Merlin Productions and the game’s publisher, Focus Entertainment, will handle production.

The series will be shot in France, which makes sense given that Innocence takes place in 14th century France. “It is fundamental for me that our productions reflect French talents and know-how”, declares Fabrice Renault, boss of Merlin Productions. “A plague tale is a game designed in Bordeaux by Asobo that we produce with a company based in Paris; its creators had the opportunity to sell the adaptation in the United States, but they preferred to work with French people: I want to give them back that trust.”

Turi himself took to Twitter to express his excitement about being involved with the project. “I can’t wait to bring Amicia and Hugo’s journey to the screen!”

A Plague Tale: Innocence (check out our take here) is available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series. Meanwhile, Innocencethe following, A Plague Tale: Requiemis slated for release later this year on PC and Xbox Series.
