iPad, iPhone Notes App
The iPhone and iPad, the latter even more, are used by its users as productivity devices because they have features for taking notes and drawing on the go.
As such, countless apps have already flooded Apple’s App Store to provide extensive functionality to do just that. Evernote and Notion on iOS are some of the popular titles that have billed themselves as productivity tools.
Still, some users still prefer the minimalist Notes app, which MacBook, iPhone, and iPad devices install by default.
While the built-in app is known to follow the minimalist philosophy of its overall interface, it does come with some handy features.
For example, the Notes app can change the default blank page on the Notes app just like a real notepad with printed lines or grids.
How to add lines and grids from a new note?
Row and grid options can be set on a page even before a user starts removing information, according to iMore. It’s essential note that it is quite simple to do, which could be done in a few clicks.
- Open the Notes app on an iPhone or iPad.
- Tap the Start New Note icon at the bottom right.
- Select the three-dot icon, this time, in the upper left corner.
- Choose “Lines and Grids”.
- Now select the line style.
This is how we proceed, at least when we start from a blank page.
How to add or modify lines and grids on previously taken notes?
According to Apple Insider, the process is relatively close to doing it on a blank slate. Additionally, users can change the style of lines or grids on existing notes: here’s how:
- Open an existing note written previously.
- Tap the icon with three dots in the upper right corner.
- Select “Rows and Grids,” spotted under the sharing options.
- Then choose the line style you want to apply to the existing note.
How to apply default lines or grids for Notes app?
If a user uses the row or grid style over and over again, it would be best to set it as default. Apple allows this option for iPad and iPhone owners through the Settings app.
Note that setting a default line style will not remove the option to edit it in the Notes application.
- Launch the Settings app.
- Tap on the “Notes” section.
- Then select “Lines and Grids”.
- Choose the style you prefer to be enabled by default.
