Is ‘Uninjected’ Dating Site for ‘Unvaccinated Covid-19’ Leaving Data Exposed?

If you search for love or other relationships with “unvaccinated Covid-19 humans” on the website, Unjected, could you leave yourself unprotected in more ways than one? You’ve probably heard that not being vaccinated can put you at increased risk for more severe Covid-19, based on a growing number of research studies summarized on the Centers website. for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). But Mikael Thalen writing for the daily item warned of other potential exposure that may result from use of the website, which may have involved your dating data.

In the following tweet thread, Thalen called Unjected “Tinder for anti-vaxxers” and described how website users can have their personal data erased:

Thalen then described how the daily item had created a test account on the Unjected website, then witnessed how a web developer and system administrator who goes by the name of GeopJr was able to essentially hack into that test account and change its information:

Getting other people to change your profile picture, edit your posts, and change your username is obviously not a good thing. You wouldn’t want a random person to play with your dating profile to look like you don’t enjoy long walks on the beach at sunset. Or photograph a shirt on your shirtless body in your profile picture. Or change your username to something like “never out of pants”. GeopJr, who describes himself as a “CS student from Greece”, told the daily item that basic security protocols had been overlooked when creating the Unjected website. In other words, the premature release of the website may have left Unjected rather unprotected.

Thalen’s tweet thread continued with what happened after the daily item contacted Unjected co-founder Shelby Thomson about these vulnerabilities:

In the daily item article, Thalen wrote, “The most critical issue, user data exposure, has been fixed. Many non-critical bugs remain.

Now, it’s unclear how many actual humans might have been affected by the data exposure and might be at risk with these remaining bugs. The website claims it’s “grown to reach 110,000 and growing members in 85 different countries around the world.” Of course, when it comes to dating, the phrase “multiplying endlessly” can mean different things. And currently the website does not provide more data to verify their membership size.

What could someone join Unjected? Well, the website includes the following description of itself: “Created by two moms in Hawaii, during the height of the vaccine rollout in the spring of 2021; Unjected is a multi-faceted platform of health-conscious humans, unvaccinated against covid-19, who believe in medical freedom, freedom of choice, freedom of expression and bodily autonomy. According to the website, Unjected offers the following:

  • “Features to help you find love with mRNA-free partners.” Hmm, “without mRNA” is an interesting term. If you are human, every day your cells make many copies of mRNA (which is short for messenger ribonucleic acid) which contain instructions on how to build proteins from your cell nuclei to factors production of proteins in the cytoplasm of cells. So technically someone completely “mRNAless” would be dead, which wouldn’t make for a good relationship, personal or professional. So, presumably “mRNA-free” in the case of the website specifically refers to someone who has not received one of the Covid-19 mRNA vaccines. Keep in mind, however, that mRNA from Covid-19 vaccines does not stay in your body long after injection. Instead, our bodies break down this mRNA soon after it helps your cells make some of the spike proteins that normally stud the surface of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and the make it look like a spiky massage ball.
  • Support for “Find friendships with those who truly understand ‘what’s really going on’.” That probably doesn’t mean people understand the song “What’s Going On”, sung by Marvin Gaye.
  • “Social feeds without fact checkers. Note that the website has put the word “without” in bold and italics. Because who wants the facts to be verified?
  • “The listings features make it easy to connect and do business with those who have always been out of office or find local artists and creatives to support your local unvaccinated community.” This way, you can identify companies that were unwilling to implement evidence-based means to protect the public. Because who would want to meddle with companies that are actually trying to protect the public.
  • “MRNA-Free Blood Repertoires and Fertility Repertoires to Protect Population Integrity.” OK, telling a potential date that you’re looking to “protect the integrity of the people” might not be the best opening line.

If all of these are screaming “Sign me up” at you but you’re low on funds, you’re apparently in luck. The website states that “Many of our services are free and usable”, although it is possible to join, “Unjected Premium for faster connection at only 11.11 USD with monthly and annual subscription options” .

Alternatively, if you want to keep your data private and fact-checked, you may want to be wary of websites that do not maintain at least basic security protocols and may make claims that are not supported by science and which actually contradicts the available information. scientific proof. SARS-CoV-2 is still spreading relatively unchecked with an average of 44,088 people hospitalized and 436 people dying each day from Covid-19 in the United States alone, according to the New York Times. There are also many hackers, viruses and other nasties online. Therefore, it is a good idea to protect your body and your data appropriately against viruses, whether biological or electronic.
