Library: Learn to write for the web | Review by Chanhassen



Join the Carver County Library and Loft Literary Center for an online seminar where you’ll learn how to write for the web.

When you visit a company or organization’s website, you’re not looking for the same things as a good book, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t art to write for the web. . Writing for the Web will provide content organization and presentation strategies for the medium it serves.

This course, funded by MELSA, is offered online on Tuesday, June 28 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Visit to register.


Cooking in the kitchen: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 25 on the Carver County Library Facebook Live page. Chaska’s library branch manager Jodi and avid library user Morgan are back with special guest dog Duke to enjoy the library’s collection of cookbooks and come up with a delicious recipe.

Generations – Show me something: 10:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday, June 25. Think of it as a Show ‘n’ Tell community fair for middle and high school students and adults 55 and older together. ALL teenagers and adults 55 and over are welcome. Held outside in the square between the library and the senior center or inside the library in case of bad weather. Presented in partnership with the Chanhassen Senior Center and funded by the Friends of Chanhassen Library.


Enjoy a self-guided Walk of stories with the family this summer and take a walk to read a story. Pages from a picture book are displayed along a walking path. StoryWalk at Carver Gazebo Park: 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, June 28. StoryWalk is at Carver Gazebo Park, 307 Broadway St. Carver.

Artistry Class Design Your Own Wrapping Paper with Your Own Carver Stamps at Chaska Library: 5:30-7 p.m., Tuesday, June 28. For ages 12 and up. Come join us as we paint, stamp and print to create our own unique decorative wrapping paper sheets. Use tools and simple rubber erasers to engrave our own stamp designs that will be incorporated into our papermaking process. Registration required.

Brodini at City Square Park in Chaska: 6:30 p.m., Thursday, June 30. Hailed as one of Minnesota’s best magic shows, the hilarious Brodini is sure to entertain and amaze! Warning: check in case of bad weather. The program will take place at City Square Park at 300 Chestnut St., Chaska.
