FLIGHT, 2022-10200179, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At around 4:55 p.m. on October 20, police were dispatched to report that an armed robbery had just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that a group of approximately 5-6 suspects approached Juvenile Victim One, demanded his bag and displayed a firearm. The victim refused and left the scene on foot. Shortly after, the suspects approached and stole the bag. Child victim two, who was in the same group as victim one, then attempted to confront the suspects, during which three of the suspects displayed firearms. The victim was able to leave the scene safely and no injuries were reported. Response officers searched the area, located the adult suspect and the juvenile suspect, and arrested them without incident. During the investigation, the young suspect provided false identifying information, but officers were later able to correctly identify him. During a search of the juvenile suspect incident to the arrest, the bag was recovered. Petitions have been requested for the juvenile suspect. Marquan Johnson, 18, of Oxon Hill, Maryland, was arrested and charged with robbery, attempted robbery, conspiracy to commit a felony (x2) and trespassing. The investigation into the identity of the other suspects is ongoing.
