OneNote has been busy adding several new features since Microsoft focused on the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) version of the app, and it’s about to get another handy one. In a recent Message on Twitter (Going through Neowin), Ben Hodes, Microsoft’s OneNote project manager, revealed that soon you’ll be able to create default templates for section pages.
If you frequently use similar layouts for your section pages, this feature will come in handy. The new “Set as default” option will make it easier to create a layout and then use it on any new page you create.
In addition to the template functionality, Hodes added a nod to another minor new feature for OneNote. Appearing in the same menu is the option to sort pages. It looks like you’ll have several different filters to sort your pages, but we’ll have to wait until the feature is available to see the full extent. However, this matches another OneNote feature that Microsoft launched last year, which is the ability to add custom tags to your notes for better sorting.
It’s unclear when any of the new features will be rolled out in the final version of OneNote.
