Spotify Launches New Website Where Fans Can Buy Concert Tickets Directly


After announcing a loss of $197 million in the second quarter, Spotify sought to further expand its growth and maintain a high number of Premium users. In their latest updates, the music streaming app launched a new website so fans can now purchase concert tickets directly through Spotify.

The current website is a test launch at the moment and is currently being used to sell pre-sale tickets for a limited number of upcoming concerts by Spotify artists. Some of the artists with ticket sales on the first site include Limbeck, Annie DiRusso, Dirty Honey, Crows, TOKiMONSTA, Four Year Strong and Osees. As of this writing, Spotify is now selling tickets online and tickets will come from artists’ pre-allotments for their upcoming events.

This is Spotify’s most recent effort to streamline ticket sales. The popular music streaming app currently has an inbuilt feature called Live Events Feed where it links to its ticketing partners such as DICE, Ticketmaster, Eventbrite and others. Currently, events listed on Spotify Tickets are not yet linked to the live event stream on the app. Spotify’s new ticketing venture support page says the music streaming company will sell tickets to concerts on behalf of event partners, including promoters, fan clubs, artists and venues.
